Red & White Sunlounger
Red and White Sunlounger is an evolution of Gerrit Rietveld’s Red & Blue chair from 1917. The formal essence of Rietveld’s chair is enhanced to the point where it converges a sunlounger.
The original Red and Blue chair has an angular appearance based on elementary geometrical shapes and made entirely of wood, not unlike a typical everyday sunlounger. One can on such a basis claim that the formal essence of a ’sunlounger’ lies latent in the original form.
