Galata

The ottoman was originally conceived in Turkey, and introduced to Europe in the late 18th century. Galata is a small ottoman inspired by 19th century designs, but much lighter in weight and expression. The fringes makes for a floor-length curtain, concealing a hidden space to put things out of sight. The slim legs run parallell to the fringes, making Galata look like it is hovering above ground.

The seat is upholstered in surplus material from Mokasser’s main furniture production, allowing every ottoman to be a unique piece of design in terms of textile properties, structure and colour.
